To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.
1 Chronicles 16:18

David had reestablished worship, brought the Ark to Jerusalem (with its own set of challenges), and called on Israel to seek God. He was working to unite Israel after they defeated their enemies and brought the Ark to the capital. The Ark represents God’s presence among His people, where He dwelt on the Mercy Seat (also called the Atonement Cover, Exodus 25:22). Once the Ark finally arrived, David threw a joyous celebration, not just any party, but a time to bring the nation together for worship. David appointed Levites, singers, musicians, and priests, who all aligned their values and morals with God. When we praise God, it is not only for our internal hearts but should also be outwardly displayed.

The Psalms are like a gift to the reader, offering songs and poems that show what a life truly devoted to God looks like. They cover how to seek God when in pain and to worship him when in triumph. David made worship both personal and public. So, what does outward worship look like in your life today? Is your faith mostly internal, or does it show up in visible ways others can see?
